I am a plumber that has been working in the piping trades for over two decades. I spent 10 of these years in the the non-union sector and 12 years as a member of the UA.

I have been fortunate to have experience in most sectors in the industry. Starting in service then moving on to residential new construction then on to the ICI sector. The ten years I worked in the non-union I worked without pension, benefits, and decent wages.

I made the choice to become a member of the UA through the certification of my employer. I’d come to realize the value of having union wages and conditions in the workplace and wanted to make a change. Every tradesperson deserves the benefits of a union.

Working as an Organizer for the Ontario Pipe Trades Council I strive to insure these benefits are available to workers in the piping trades through membership with the UA.

As tradespeople we don’t do anything on the job site without reason and question. I believe this same concept should apply to our conditions of work. If you have any questions about your employment or becoming a member of the UA feel free to contact me anytime.
